About me
- I am a member of the National Association of Registered Petsitters.
- The security of your home and your dog is paramount.
- I have had a full police check carried out to show that my honesty and integrity is beyond question.
- While in my care your dog will have full insurance cover at all times.
Throughout my childhood there was always a dog in the home, so naturally as soon as I got my own home (over 20 years ago) the first thing I did was get a pup of my own.
The Ulster German Shepherd Club introduced me to a whole new world. I started training and successfully competing in Working Trials then moving onto Obedience Trials. Some years later after breeding a few litters I moved into the show ring and achieved success there too, but no matter which road I have taken the love and enjoyment my dogs have given me is tremendous.
Over the years I have attended many training courses with some of the top obedience trainers from home and the mainland. I have also taken part in workshops run by the A.P.D.T. covering all aspects of animal training and behaviour.
In 2005 I gained a credit in a “Companion Animal Behaviour” course run at Queen’s University Belfast. The course covered animal welfare, training methods, their role in human society and an introduction to the prevention and management of behavioural problems. At present I am enjoying “An Introduction to Clicker Training” course at Castlereagh College with Tulsa my youngest G.S.D.
Over the last 10 years I have been a member, committee member, trainer and Club Secretary at the City of Belfast D.T.C. Through the club I have been involved in the “Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme” which promotes responsible ownership and management of your dog - basically how to train, love and enjoy them - and have achieved the Gold award with my own dogs.
Testamonials
“Liz has been a client and friend for at least the last twenty years with her German Shepherd dogs. I would describe her as a dedicated, caring, competent and above all knowledgeable owner and breeder of dogs. I would have no hesitation in saying that I believe Liz to be the ideal person to be caring for and walking other people’s dogs. Over many years she has been very supportive of any work that I have carried out raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People ... and has been more than helpful on each and every occasion that we have held an Open Day at the Earlswood Veterinary Hospital.”
Des Thompson OBE, BA, MVB, MRCVS Earlswood Veterinary Group
“I have known Liz for the past 9 years through the City of Belfast Dog Training Club. As Chairman I have watched Liz move up within the club from member to committee member, trainer and secretary of the club. In this time she has taken and passed a dog psychology course. I have always found Liz to be honest, trustworthy and hard-working, giving 100% in everything she does.”
